Here are some tips for choosing a collision repair center. Choosing a repair shop is your decision, not your insurer’s. Compare collision centers. Review qualifications by asking about advanced technician training from national organizations such as the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair or the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence.
Look for signs indicating membership in industry associations such as the Alliance of Automotive Service Professionals, Automotive Service Association, Society of Collision Repair Specialists, or others. Check the shop’s reputation at bbb.org (our report may be found here). Reputable shops will stand behind repairs with a warranty covering labor, materials and installation. Don’t shop for price alone. The estimate may be too low or the shop might offer poor quality “quickie” repairs. Ask for explanations of very low estimates.
that is quite true… and if the service provider is a lone entrepreneur or free lance without existing industrial affiliation then at least ask for some testimonials from recent or present customer.
